Residential Solar Installation Process & Project Timeline
Solar Consultation:
Over an Online meeting or in person, our solar specialist will review your energy needs and we’ll discuss the details of your project proposal and will help you get the best financial option and apply the Federal and Local Solar Tax Incentives to the cost of the solar system.
Project Initiation:
Once you decide to proceed with installing solar panels, an agreement will be signed. Next step will be your official site survey,this will involve a solar professional coming out to your home, and taking pictures of the roofing area, roof slope and home electrical panel specifics.Our solar engineers will use this information to customize your solar system design special for your roof shape and size and will draft a project plan set.
Permits:
Installing solar panels requires permits from the town and an interconnection application for your utility company, as well as applications for rebates and tax credits. Usually the paperwork process will take from 2 months - 4 months, once the paperwork is approved the next step is to move forward with your installation.
System Installation:
We’ll reach out to you when permits are approved and we’ll schedule your installation at your convenient day and time. We’ll order equipment and install your solar system at your home.
Final Inspection:
When your installation is complete, we will coordinate with the town to ensure system compliance. We will contact you once the town inspection is scheduled.
Activation / Meter swap:
Your utility company needs to grant us permission to operate and we’ll schedule a meter swap with them. You’ll provide access for your utility company and for us and all we have to do is flip the "solar switch" so you can sit back and enjoy your solar energy.
Tax Fillings:
During Tax season you’ll submit state and federal tax forms and you will be able to claim your solar tax credits.
